Toddler Time

Community Helpers

Explore STEM where we live with our Community Helpers Toddler Time programs this fall! Toddler Time is intended for families with children ages 0 to 3 years to engage in developmentally appropriate, intentional play with STEM concepts.

 

Monthly Workshop Themes

There will be a different workshop with a unique theme each month from September to November. Times and dates for each workshop will vary and are listed on the registration page. Each workshop is 30 minutes long and will be led by one of our experienced museum educators. Please read the descriptions of each workshop theme below for more information. 

 

Kiddie Construction

September 4th, 6th, 10th, 14th, & 16th

Do you have a child who is curious about excavators, dump trucks, and building? Then come dig and build with your little one in our Kiddie Construction workshop. This workshop will focus on pretend play, fine-motor skills, building, and problem-solving skills.

 

Little Farmers

October 2nd, 4th, 8th, 12th, 21st

Old McDonald had a farm, at Boonshoft! Introduce your child to how food gets to our table in the Little Farmers workshop. This workshop will focus on sensory activities, counting, sorting, matching, fine-motor skills, and pretend play.

 

Staying Healthy                   

November 1st, 6th, 9th, 12th, 18th

Time for a check-up! Whether it’s a trip to the doctor, the dentist, or your daily care routine, we will explore it all. This workshop will focus on fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sorting, and pretend play.

 

Registration and Payment Requirements

  • Registration and prepayment for the program are required.
  • Children must be ages 0 to 3 years old to participate.
  • Children must have an adult with them during the program.
  • You MUST fill out a registration form and pay for each child who will be participating in the workshop to reserve their spot.
  • Registration for workshops will close at 11:59PM the day before.
    • Registration for all workshops opens on Friday, August 8th at 9:00AM.
  • All participants and non-participants in the program must pay museum admission in addition to the program fee.
  • There are several options for paying for museum admission which include:
    • General Admission
    • Boonshoft Membership
    • Museums for All
    • Reciprocal Membership from another institution
    • AAA Discount
    • State Farm Discount
    • Military Discount
  • Please arrive at least ten (10) minutes in advance of your program time to allot time to pay for your museum admission at the front desk.
  • All workshops will start and end at the time listed on the registration page. 
    • Late arrivals can still join a workshop, but the end time will remain the same as it is stated on the website. 
    • There are no refunds for late arrivals or missing a workshop.
